The Charleston Boat Show to be held January 23-25, 2009
The 29th annual Charleston Boat Show will be held January 23-25, 2009 at the North Charleston Convention Center.
This event is the Lowcountry’s biggest boat show and sale featuring the latest models, many offered at discount prices. The region’s leading dealers will be on-site to showcase a multitude of powerboats including: sport cruisers, motor and express yachts, sport fishing boats, center console fishing boats, bass boats, bow riders, deck and aluminum boats, ski and pontoon boats, runabouts, bay boats, shallow water flat skiffs and family cruisers.
Exhibitors will feature an extensive assortment of the latest in marine and fishing products including: fishing tackle and accessories, marine electronics, boat lifts, dock systems, and marine finance and insurance and nautical artwork.
This year’s Show is sure to please as it presents some exciting features including:

Boaters “Wine Down” during the new free wine tasting event held on the exhibit floor from 5pm-7pm Friday and Saturday evenings

The Kids’ Fishing Clinic presented by Captain Don Dingman of TV’s “Hook the Future.” This educational experience is taught by marine wildlife experts, and will focus on teaching children fishing ethics as well as how to select the right lures and tackle, tie knots and cast nets.. For the adult fishing enthusiasts there will be educational seminars conducted by Captain Dingman as well as local fishing captains. These seminars will cover various fishing related topics and are scheduled Saturday and Sunday of the Show

28th Annual Charleston Boat Show Opens Friday
Mercury Marine presents
the Charleston Boat Show this weekend, January 25-27, at the North
Charleston Convention Center and Coliseum.
This event is the Lowcountry’s biggest boat show and sale featuring
more than 90 boat lines representing the latest models, many offered
at discount prices. Thirty of the region’s leading dealers will be
on-site to showcase a multitude of powerboats including: sport
cruisers, motor and express yachts, sport fishing boats, center
console fishing boats, bass boats, bow riders, deck and aluminum
boats, ski and pontoon boats, runabouts, bay boats, shallow water
flat skiffs and family cruisers.
Exhibitors will feature an extensive assortment of the latest in
marine and fishing products including: fishing tackle and
accessories, marine electronics, boat lifts, dock systems, and
marine finance and insurance and nautical artwork.
This year’s Show is sure to please as it presents some exciting new
features such as Steve Gryb, Miami’s “Pied Piper of Percussion”.
Gryb performs all over the country and people of all ages
participate in his musical shows. Island Trio will also perform
throughout the weekend.
Also new this year is the “Hook the Future” Kids’ Fishing Clinic.
This educational experience is taught by marine wildlife experts,
and will focus on teaching children fishing ethics as well as how to
select the right lures and tackle, tie knots and cast nets. Fishing
backpacks will be given away to 35 participants each day. For the
adult fishing enthusiasts there will be educational seminars
conducted by local fishing captains. These seminars will cover
various fishing related topics and are scheduled Saturday and Sunday
of the Show.
There will be a great selection of food from Lowcountry Boils
including Frogmore Stew, pulled pork sandwiches, boiled peanuts and
more.
Various prizes will be given away all weekend. Sunday afternoon one
lucky winner will be chosen for the grand prize, a 7 day cruise to
the Western Caribbean! Attendees may also register to win a 9.9
horsepower engine from Mercury Marine or weekend vacation packages
from Visit Jacksonville.
The Charleston Boat Show is hosted by the Tri County Marine Trade
Association and is presented by Mercury Marine. Promotional Partners

Kids Learn to Fish from TV’s “Hook the Future” Host!
Captain Don Dingman to host Kids’ Fishing Clinic during the
Charleston Boat Show!
The 28th annual
Charleston Boat Show, presented by Mercury Marine, kicks off next
week, January 25-27, and promises to have something for everyone,
including “a whole lotta” fishing! Captain Don Dingman of
Jacksonville, Florida has a long history teaching kids how to fish,
starting with his son Brian who died unexpectedly in 2004. Since his
son’s death, Captain Don has dedicated his life to teaching kids the
tricks of angling and the joy that it brings to families. Captain
Dingman hosts the TV show “Hook the Future”(www.HooktheFuture.com)
where kids experience the excitement of fishing, as well as the
educational aspect and skill of the sport.
Captain Dingman states, “Hook the Future is not just about fishing.
It’s about taking that big step back and realizing what is more
important in life. It’s about taking time for your kids, giving them
more love, and more of yourself. The rewards are greater than
anything else in life.”
On Saturday and Sunday during the Charleston Boat Show, the “Hook
the Future” Kids’ Fishing Clinics will be held Saturday, 1:30 pm and
2:30 pm; Sunday, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm.
The first 35 kids who participate in the Kids’ Fishing Clinic each
day will receive a free Fish Backpack.
The Show is held annually at the North Charleston Convention Center
and Coliseum. This year 30 boat dealers from the region will display
more than 85 boat lines. Marine products and services including boat
lifts, marine financing and insurance companies, docks, nautical
artists, marine electronics and more will be on display.

Charleston, South Carolina, November 29, 2007 - The Charleston
Boat Show, presented by Mercury Marine, weighs anchor at the
Charleston Convention Center and Coliseum, January 25th-27th, with
over 90 boat lines on display and priced to suit every need and
budget. The largest boat show in the Lowcountry marks its 28th year,
offering boating enthusiasts and people of all ages a unique
nautical experience with great deals and fun for the whole family.
While shopping for the perfect boat, attendees are also invited to
enjoy some of the Show’s exciting special features such as great
food and live music. The Show will also offer seminars by local
fishing experts offering up tips and advice on a variety of boating
and fishing topics.
Steve Gryb of Miami, FL, known as the “Pied Piper of Percussion”,
will host an exciting, interactive show, allowing children of all
ages to participate in his musical ensemble. In addition, the Hook
the Future Kids Fishing Clinic taught by marine life experts will
teach kids the ethics of fishing as well as how to select the right
tackle and lures, tie knots and cast nets. Children are also invited
to join in the fun as there will be face painters, balloon artists,
and giant jump castles.
The Boat Show will be offering prizes, with a grand prize of a 7 day
cruise to the Western Caribbean. Children will also receive prizes
for participating in the fishing clinic.

Three Southeastern Boat Show Dates Announced
Greenville, SC--- JBM & Associates has announced their 2008 Boat
Show season. The 28th Annual Charleston, SC Boat Show will be held
January 25-27, 2008 at the Charleston Area Convention Center
Complex. The sixth Annual Savannah, GA International Boat Show will
be held February 29-March 2, 2008 at the Savannah International

27th Annual Charleston Boat Show Breaks Attendance Record
Charleston, South Carolina, February 19, 2007--- A record number
of attendees visited the Charleston Boat Show held at the Charleston
Area Convention Center Complex, January 26-28th, making it the
largest turnout in the Show’s 27- year history. According to JBM &
Associates, producers of the Show, overall attendance was 10,140- a
11% increase in attendance over last year’s Show, and a 20% increase
in attendance over the past 3 years.
“The Show was a great success and attendance was up significantly.
Feedback from the dealers has been overwhelming positive, with very
strong sales made at the Show, as well as later sales resulting from
leads during the Show. The January Show is a barometer for the rest
of the year; based on the Show results, 2007 should be another great
year for Charleston area boat dealers,” said Tim Clark of Longshore
Boats.
Over the last 27 years, The Charleston Boat Show has established
itself as the premier Boat Show in South Carolina, and a must attend
event for boating enthusiasts in the Lowcountry. This year’s Show
